The Makineni Lectureship honors Rao Makineni, a long time supporter of peptide science, peptide scientists, and the American Peptide Society. Presented at the biennial symposia, this award recognizes an individual who has made a recent contribution (within 2 years of the nomination deadline) of unusual merit to research in the field of peptide science and is recognized as an accomplished speaker. This award is intended to recognize original and singular discoveries rather than cumulative or lifetime contributions.
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
The Makineni Lectureship recognizes an individual who has made a recent contribution (within 2 years of the nomination deadline) of unusual merit to research in the field of peptide science and is recognized as an accomplished speaker. This award is intended to recognize original and singular discoveries rather than cumulative or lifetime contributions. The 2011 Makineni Lecture will be delivered at the 22nd American Peptide Symposium in June 2011.
Nominations for the Makineni Lectureship should include the following items, assembled into a single PDF file.
- A letter of nomination describing the candidate's outstanding contribution from the past two years (1,000 word limit; self-nominations are welcome).
- A copy of the publication(s) describing the outstanding contribution.
Nominating documents should be submitted by 1 November 2010. The recipient must be able to attend the APS in June 2011.
Individuals contemplating a nomination are encouraged to contact the Awards Committee Chair with questions.
